In South Africa, the adolescent population make up almost 20% of the population. Yet our adolescents in SA are often left behind, like a lost generation.  In health care, they are often too old to be seen by Paediatricians but yet too young to be in the adult health services. With this event we want to highlights the current status of adolescent health and wellbeing in SA.  We will look at  opportunities and the need for action to improve on adolescent health.  We will focus on the following issues:

1. Update on what is happening in Adolescent health in SA
2. Teenage pregnancy/Reproductive health.  How big is the problem?  Identify the gaps...  Lets talk about menstrual health, education and efforts on ending period poverty.
3. Mental health in the teenage years, what support do they get?
4. Importance of Sport/hobbies and Group support for Adolescents.
